We just wanted to share a few more pictures of our NEW little niece, Emme Hart. One of Erin and John's friends came over to see her the other day and snapped a few pictures. First Cav HCD Vet Appreciation Demo and Halloweeny Fest

Yesterday the Horse Detachment had a Retiree Appreciation Day at Fort Hood and they made a stop at the stables for a show. It was a good show and a good time. Lane Lewis came dressed as a pumpkin butt/pumpkin head or a pumpkin butthead, ;) Suzanne came down for the day so I could participate in the HCD Horse Ride. I rode NYC who supposedly was a great ride and one of the "best" horses out there. I BEG TO DIFFER. That horse stopped every 5.8 seconds to eat something on the path. Jay said it's because I let him get away with it the first time. I think it's because they forgot to give him grains that morning. After the demo we had a bounce house, pumpkin painting and games for kids and adults with a cook out. It was a good time and Lane was a hit. He has started doing this silly thing when he' sitting on your hip. Too long to write about here but I'm sure you'll see it next time we are in town. I hope ya'll are all having a GREAT weekend. Miss you and see you soon!

It was pretty chilly here in Central Texas this morning. 40 degrees most of the morning. However, Lane stayed warm in his nifty sweater one piece. He's such a sweet little cuddle bug.

Yesterday we whipped our camera out around 4pm. From 4-5 these are all the pics and video we got. Pretty amazing how entertaining this wee one is all within an hour. So smart, so perfect. BTW, Suzanne we are really looking forward to your visit. :)

Napping in a Barn

Lane took his morning nap at his Daddy's work today. The couch in Jay's office isn't the most comfortable but it did the job. His smile is infectious.

Lane is 1/2 year old and growing too fast

Today we had Lane's 6 Month checkup. He weighed 18lbs and 8ozs and was 27 1/2 inches long. It's amazing how true it is that you start to forget things so quickly. It feels like it was just yesterday that we were at the hospital about to have our son, yet I can't really remember the experience. Lane has been the BEST thing that ever happened to me and Jay. We are so overjoyed with how much we love this little person and how we would do ANYTHING for him. He is fun, funny, strong, beautiful, smiley, giggly, playful, LOUD, snugly, smart, and very perceptive. How did we get so fortunate? I just wanted to post a little "This is YOUR LIFE" picture reel to jog my memory of how fast time flys by and how much has changed in the past 6 months.

She's Here! She's Here! Emme Hart decided she wanted to come see us a little early today. Born October 18,2009 at 3:49pm weighed in at 5 lbs 5ozs 18 inches long, beautiful black curly hair all over her head, big blue eyes, and the most delicate features. She is the prettiest little lady I've ever seen. Erin and John are in love and so are we. Congratulations Benton's! We love her and are so excited for her future and getting to know her
